The Challenge
Sometimes, technical drawings may contain inaccuracies or be incomplete, which can lead to problems in the production process. Think of hygiene and safety risks on the factory floor. It’s essential to rectify any discrepancies or inconsistencies between the drawings and the actual situation, a task we can achieve in collaboration with our clients.
The Solution
With a P&ID Review & Walkdown, we ensure that the technical drawings match the actual situation. This process involves several steps. It begins with a P&ID Review. Here, we evaluate and assess the accuracy and completeness of the technical drawing of a process installation.
Next, we conduct the P&ID Walkdown. A team of technical experts and operators visits the process installation to compare the P&ID with the actual situation. They identify and correct any discrepancies or inconsistencies. Subsequently, the current situation is incorporated into a Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP Study).
This is a systematic and structured method for identifying potential hazards and risks in a process installation, with the aim of enhancing safety, reliability, and efficiency. Hygiene also plays a crucial role in this process.
We address hygiene risks through Hygienic Risk Analysis (HRA) and Hazard and Critical Control Points (HACCP). HRA helps identify, assess, and manage a safe production environment. HACCP prevents, eliminates, or controls potential food safety hazards.
The Result
By applying the various steps in the P&ID Review and Walkdown process, a safe and efficient production system is established. This is essential in both the design and production phases. Discrepancies or inconsistencies between the drawings and the actual situations are avoided. This also eliminates food safety risks, a crucial aspect for both clients and consumers.

Consultancy & Advice
The engineers of Jaspers Engineering can provide consultancy and advice on various tasks. As the next case shows, the can, for example, address issues related to a spray dryer with an integrated conveyor belt (e.g., Niro Filtermat). What approach do we use? We are happy to provide more details.
Hygienic Plant Design
Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene to guarantee the safety and quality of production processes is essential in the food industry. Jaspers Engineering achieves this by planning and implementing a hygienic plant design. What approach do we use? We are happy to provide more details.
